Es el primero de los d\u00edas <a href=\"https:\/\/es.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Yamim_Noraim\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">temibles<\/a>\u00a0(\u05d9\u05b8\u05de\u05b4\u05d9\u05dd \u05e0\u05d5\u05b9\u05e8\u05b8\u05d0\u05b4\u05d9\u05dd\u200e\u00a0<em>Yamim Nora&#8217;im<\/em>, literalmente \u201cD\u00edas [de] Temor\u201d) tal como dice Lev\u00edtico 23:23-32. El nombre <a href=\"https:\/\/es.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Biblia_hebrea\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">b\u00edblico<\/a> para esta festividad es\u00a0<strong><em>Yom Teruah<\/em><\/strong>\u00a0(\u05d9\u05d5\u05b9\u05dd \u05ea\u05b0\u05bc\u05e8\u05d5\u05bc\u05e2\u05b8\u05d4\u200e), literalmente \u201cd\u00eda [de] gritar\/explotar\u201d, ya que la Tor\u00e1 prescribe soplar el shofar en Rosh Hashanah.<\/p>\n<p>En el juda\u00edsmo, el d\u00eda en que celebramos Rosh Hashanah \u2013el primero de Tishrei\u2013 no es realmente el aniversario de la Creaci\u00f3n, es el aniversario del sexto d\u00eda de la Creaci\u00f3n, cuando Ad\u00e1n y Eva fueron creados. El aniversario del primer d\u00eda de la Creaci\u00f3n ser\u00eda cinco d\u00edas antes, el 25 de Elul; sin embargo, de acuerdo con el conocimiento jud\u00edo, solo cuando el hombre fue creado es que toda la creaci\u00f3n se hizo significativa. \u201cTodo fue creado anteriormente, m\u00e1s nada de eso era digno de ser llamado el comienzo de las obra de Dios hasta que el hombre abri\u00f3 los ojos para verlo, su mente para comprenderlo y su coraz\u00f3n para guiarlo\u201d.<a href=\"#_ftn1\" name=\"_ftnref1\">[1]<\/a><\/p>\n<p>En la tradici\u00f3n rab\u00ednica, el nacimiento de la humanidad a\u00f1adi\u00f3 al universo la posibilidad de que Dios fuera proclamado Rey. Antes de comer la cabeza, se recita la siguiente bendici\u00f3n: <em>Que sea tu voluntad, se\u00f1or Dios nuestro y Dios de nuestros padres, que seamos la cabeza y no la cola.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>\u00bfQu\u00e9 significa esto? \u00bfPor qu\u00e9 decimos esto? La bendici\u00f3n viene de Deuteronomio 28:13: \u00ab<em>Te pondr\u00e1 Jehov\u00e1 por cabeza, y no por cola; y estar\u00e1s encima solamente, y no estar\u00e1s debajo, si obedecieres los mandamientos de Jehov\u00e1 tu Dios, que yo te ordeno hoy, para que los guardes y cumplas\u00bb.<\/em><a href=\"#_ftn2\" name=\"_ftnref2\">[2]<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Hay diferentes interpretaciones del significado de esta bendici\u00f3n. Seg\u00fan Ramban, por ejemplo, la bendici\u00f3n se refiere al estatuto pol\u00edtico<strong> externo<\/strong> de la naci\u00f3n de Israel: ellos \u201cestar\u00e1n siempre por encima y nunca por debajo\u201d de otras naciones. Por otra parte, hab\u00eda rabinos que pensaban que la bendici\u00f3n era sobre la cualidad de liderazgo <strong>dentro<\/strong> del pueblo de Israel.<\/p>\n<p>La conclusi\u00f3n, sin embargo, es que esta bendici\u00f3n se refiere a cada uno. En el pasado, mi atenci\u00f3n siempre hab\u00eda sido captada por el hecho de que G\u00e9nesis 22, <em>Akedah Itzhak<\/em>, se lee cada A\u00f1o Nuevo jud\u00edo. Es muy significativo que en cada <em>Rosh Hashanah<\/em>, cada A\u00f1o Nuevo, esta porci\u00f3n <em>Akedah<\/em>, referente a este acuerdo de Isaac, sea le\u00edda. Tal como escrib\u00ed en mi libro<a href=\"#_ftn3\" name=\"_ftnref3\"><sup>[3]<\/sup><\/a>: \u201cel pueblo de Israel miraba esta historia con una mezcla de sentimientos de temor y de asombro, entendiendo que de alguna forma da un significado a su destino\u201d. Indudablemente, la mayor\u00eda de mis lectores han le\u00eddo este cap\u00edtulo muchas veces \u2014la historia del sacrificio de Isaac, <em>Akedah Itzhak<\/em>, es de hecho el centro y la culminaci\u00f3n de la vida de Abraham\u2014. Para m\u00ed, personalmente, G\u00e9nesis 22 siempre ha simbolizado sacrificio. El mismo cap\u00edtulo parec\u00eda un pico alto y solitario de obediencia y fe sin precedentes e inimitables. Durante muchos a\u00f1os, todos los cap\u00edtulos a su alrededor me parecieron mucho menos significativos, menos importantes, casi vagos y borrosos en comparaci\u00f3n con este pico desalentador, claramente visible, contrapuesto al trasfondo del cielo, una silueta acentuada y escarpada con su clara y aterradora demanda. As\u00ed pues, cuando escrib\u00ed un libro sobre el misterio del sacrificio de Israel, basado en G\u00e9nesis 22, lo encabec\u00e9 con reflexiones del G\u00e9nesis 22.<\/p>\n<p>Pero hace pocos a\u00f1os, mientras escrib\u00eda otro libro, mi coraz\u00f3n cay\u00f3 en pedazos por una realidad imprevista: por primera vez me di cuenta \u2013aunque, desde luego, en mi mente lo hab\u00eda sabido todo el tiempo\u2013 que cada A\u00f1o Nuevo, tambi\u00e9n leemos G\u00e9nesis 21. El primer d\u00eda de Rosh Hashanah, antes de que la historia de Isaac sea le\u00edda, leemos el cap\u00edtulo anterior: G\u00e9nesis 21, la historia de la desaparici\u00f3n de Ismael. La festividad de Rosh Hashanah consiste en dos d\u00edas, como lo saben algunos de mis lectores, y esos dos cap\u00edtulos son le\u00eddos, lado a lado, todos los a\u00f1os. De hecho, es la \u00fanica fiesta jud\u00eda que se celebra durante dos d\u00edas, tanto en Israel como fuera de Israel, como si fuese dividido precisamente por esa raz\u00f3n: un d\u00eda para cada cap\u00edtulo. Y como siempre sucede, una vez lo not\u00e9, vino a ser muy evidente: una vez que se hace, no se puede deshacer. De repente, el solitario pico de G\u00e9nesis 22 no volvi\u00f3 a estar solo nunca m\u00e1s. El pico de G\u00e9nesis 21 creci\u00f3 al mismo tiempo, casi tan alto y escarpado como el pico de G\u00e9nesis 22. Hay dos historias de sacrificio en la vida de Abraham, no una. Cada a\u00f1o nuestro pueblo mira de nuevo estas historias con sentimientos renovados de temor y asombro, \u201ccomprendiendo que ellas, de alguna forma traen significado a su destino\u201d.
